Kulob police have uncovered a case of fraud committed in the cotton trade, the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported.
According to law enforcement, in November 2024, a 46-year-old city resident gained the trust of a 35-year-old local resident and convinced him to join them in the cotton trade and split the profits equally. However, the perpetrator took 470,000 somoni from the victim, returning only 228,000 somoni, and spent the remaining 242,000 somoni on personal expenses.
An investigation is underway against the suspect, police said.
