The Secretary-General of the United Nations held a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during which the parties discussed issues of international cooperation and support for UN initiatives.
The Secretary-General thanked Turkmenistan for hosting the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Countries, noting the importance of the event for strengthening dialogue between states and promoting sustainable development.
The parties discussed Turkmenistan's initiatives aimed at strengthening international peace and trust, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to maintain global stability and security.
The Secretary-General also expressed gratitude to Turkmenistan for its active support of the UN-80 Initiative and the Pact for the Future, noting their contribution to promoting the principles of justice, cooperation and sustainable development throughout the world.
During the meeting, prospects for further cooperation between Turkmenistan and international UN structures were discussed, including in the areas of peacekeeping, humanitarian aid, and the implementation of global development programs.
