The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan has donated five BYD e2 electric vehicles to branches of the Dushanbe-based Electricity Distribution Networks Open Joint-Stock Company, the ministry's press service reported.
The new electric vehicles have been distributed among the district power grid divisions of Ismoili Somoni, Firdavsi, Shokhmansur, Sino, and the laboratory service.
According to the ministry, the transfer of the vehicles will improve the efficiency and quality of work performed by specialists servicing the capital's electrical infrastructure, as well as ensure a timely response to potential technical issues. The ministry notes that such measures are particularly relevant during the upcoming 2025-2026 fall-winter season, when the load on the power grid traditionally increases.
"The use of modern electric vehicles by power grid specialists will contribute to improving the efficiency and reliability of Dushanbe's power supply," the ministry emphasized.
