A gala reception dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was held in Dushanbe. The event, held on September 22 at the Hayat Regency Hotel, brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, government agencies, public organizations, and the business community.
Walid bin Abdulrahman Al-Reshaydon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Saudi Arabia to Tajikistan, addressed those present with a welcoming address. In his speech, the diplomat emphasized the historical significance of the date and recalled that in 1932, the kingdom's founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, united the disparate territories of the Arabian Peninsula, creating the modern state.
The ambassador noted Saudi Arabia's important role on the international stage, emphasizing the country's achievements in the economic, scientific, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. Among its key initiatives, he cited the state program "Vision 2030," which is focused on comprehensive development, sustainable leadership, and openness to the world. Among the significant projects of recent years, the diplomat mentioned the upcoming World Expo 2030 in Riyadh, the creation of an international water organization, and the Kingdom's leadership in providing humanitarian aid to other countries.
The reception focused on strategic cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan. Walid bin Abdulrahman Al-Reshaidon recalled that the Kingdom was one of the first countries to recognize Tajikistan's independence in 1992 and has maintained close bilateral ties since then. The diplomat emphasized the important contribution of the Saudi Fund for Development to the republic's economic and infrastructure projects, including school construction, support for the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station, and social initiatives.
The ambassador also expressed confidence in further strengthening cooperation in education, economics, science, culture, and humanitarian affairs, noting the importance of friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries. In conclusion, the diplomat congratulated the leadership and people of Tajikistan on the 34th anniversary of independence and wished them prosperity and well-being.
