The Joint Global Tourism Investment Forum will be held on September 17 in Dushanbe, according to the Tourism Development Committee under the Government of Tajikistan.
The event was organized at the initiative of the government of the republic with the support of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The forum will be attended by heads of tourism departments of UNWTO member states, representatives of Tajik ministries and agencies, the diplomatic corps accredited in Dushanbe, and domestic and international industry experts. Participants include representatives of tourism associations, tour operators, the hotel industry, resorts, educational institutions training tourism specialists, as well as bloggers and journalists.
The forum's agenda includes discussions on prospects for expanding cooperation between UNWTO member countries, attracting investment in the tourism industry, developing infrastructure, and promoting tourism potential.
The Tourism Development Committee emphasized that holding the forum in Dushanbe will strengthen Tajikistan's position in the global tourism community and contribute to the country's strategic goals in this area. Specifically, these include the "Strategy for Attracting Investments to the Republic of Tajikistan through 2040" and the "Tourism Development Strategy through 2030."
As a reminder, Tajikistan has been a full member of the World Tourism Organization since 2007. Participation in the activities of this organization, which is one of the 12 specialized agencies of the UN, allows the country to adopt best practices, develop partnerships, and strengthen the country's image as a promising tourist destination.
