The cotton harvest has begun in the Asht district of Tajikistan's Sughd region. According to the regional administration's press service, the district's annual production target has been set at 14,200 tons.
According to officials, 232 tons of cotton had been harvested in the region by September 4. Most of the cotton fields are currently in bloom, and pickers are actively working on all farms.
On September 4, Sughd Region Governor Rajab Akhmadzoda inspected the cotton harvest process. During a visit to a farm, he personally participated in the campaign, emphasizing that the cotton harvest must be completed in a timely manner and without losses.
The Asht district is one of the largest agricultural areas in the region and makes a significant contribution to the development of cotton production. The head of the region presented gifts to the best pickers and called for increased efforts to successfully fulfill the annual plan.
