On September 1, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, according to the presidential press service.
During the talks, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, focusing on the development of trade, economic, and humanitarian ties. The leaders exchanged views on the results of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit held the day before.
Particular attention was paid to the international and regional agenda, including issues of ensuring stability and security in Central Asia. The presidents also discussed issues related to upcoming high-level contacts.
Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon emphasized the strategic nature of relations between Tajikistan and Russia and expressed their readiness to further strengthen their mutually beneficial partnership.
