Last night, Russian forces launched massive strikes on Ukrainian territory using drones and cruise missiles. The attacks hit Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and several other regions of the country, according to Ukrainian authorities and local media.
According to monitoring channels, several hundred attack drones were launched into Ukrainian airspace. Air defense systems were deployed in several regions.
Zaporizhia suffered the most damage. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration (OVA), Russian troops launched at least 12 air strikes on the city. Private homes were destroyed, and multi-story buildings, cafes, service stations, and an industrial plant were damaged. Fires broke out at the sites of the strikes.
According to the latest data, one person died in Zaporizhzhia, 22 residents were injured, including three children – boys aged 9 and 10 and a 16-year-old girl.
The strikes also damaged rail infrastructure in the Kyiv region. Ukrzaliznytsia reported delays to several passenger trains, including those on the Przemysl-Kharkiv, Chelm-Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk-Kharkiv, and Odesa-Kyiv routes. Restoration work is already underway.
Missile strikes and drone overflights were also recorded overnight in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Cherkasy regions. Local residents reported a series of explosions. Missile impacts and fires were reported in Dnipro and Pavlohrad.
Drone and cruise missile attacks were also reported in Lutsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. Ukrainian authorities continue to determine the consequences of the attacks.
