Qatar Fund for Development Director General Fahd Hamad Al Sulaiti and representatives of leading Qatari banks inspected the progress of construction and infrastructure work at the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Tajik government press service reported .
The Qatari delegation's visit was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Usmonali Usmonzoda.
During the tour, the guests toured the main hydroelectric power plant facilities and received information on the implementation of a strategic project, which is considered a key link in ensuring the country's energy independence and developing the region's export potential. 


Fahd Hamad Al-Sulaiti emphasized that the construction of the Rogun hydroelectric power station is important not only for the sustainable development of Tajikistan's economy, but also for strengthening mutually beneficial regional cooperation in the energy sector.
"We view this project as strategic and are ready to assist in its implementation," he noted.
The Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant, the country's largest energy facility, is a state policy priority and is intended to provide Tajikistan with electricity and create conditions for exports to countries in the region.
