In Tajikistan, two serious road accidents with fatalities have occurred in the past two days, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reports.
On August 17, at approximately 2:00 a.m., on the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanok highway in the Bogi Murod area of the Ayni district, the driver of a Mercedes Atero, Manuchehr Khakimovich Makhmudov, born in 1983, a resident of Istaravshan, lost control of his vehicle, swerved into oncoming traffic, collided with a concrete barrier, and fell into the Fondaryo River. The driver drowned. Police are conducting an operational search to recover his body.
On the night of August 18, at around 00:50, in the city of Khujand on Gagarin Avenue, 31st microdistrict, the driver of an Opel-Ashka, Fayziev Abdumanon, born in 1996, a resident of the B. Gafurov district, also lost control of the car, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a BYD car driven by Ibragimov Mukimdzhon, born in 1979, a resident of the same district.
As a result of the collision, four passengers in the Opel Ashka—Abdurazok Ruziev (born 1995), Mukhammadzhon Komildzhonovich Yusupov (born 1996), Muzaffar Marufovich Umurzokov (born 1996), and Abdullodzhon Abdukhakimovich Aliyev (born 1996), all residents of the B. Gafurov district—died instantly. The driver and three other passengers, including Mekhrona Ikhtievna Abdurazokova (born 2004), sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized.
An investigation is underway into both accidents, with law enforcement officials conducting checks and establishing all the circumstances of the incidents.
