Rustami Emomali, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, held a meeting with the heads and staff of law enforcement agencies in the capital. This was reported by the Information Department of the Office of the Mayor of Dushanbe.
The meeting was attended by the first deputy and deputy mayors, the head of the administration, heads of district administrations, heads of law enforcement agencies, and media representatives.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the crime situation, ensuring public safety, combating corruption, the targeted use of budget funds, and the adoption of urgent measures to improve the work of the relevant authorities.
Reports were heard from the prosecutor and the chairman of the Dushanbe city court, the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Committee for National Security, the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, the regional customs department, the Drug Control Agency, the Emergency Situations Committee, and the capital's military commissariat.
Rustami Emomali instructed the capital's prosecutor to strengthen crime prevention efforts, particularly in regard to crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability, the suppression of illegal land seizures and unauthorized construction, and unfounded inspections.
The mayor expressed concern about the delays in court hearings, which is causing public discontent. He demanded that action be taken against judges who commit violations and undermine the authority of the judicial system.
During a discussion of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' activities, a decrease in juvenile crime compared to last year was noted. At the same time, Rustami Emomali instructed the ministry to strengthen crime prevention, intensify fire and traffic accident prevention measures, and conduct extensive outreach efforts.
Particular attention was paid to the growing number of people illegally receiving religious education, the majority of whom are young people under 30. The mayor emphasized the need for active efforts to prevent youth involvement in extremist movements and counter the propaganda of foreign culture.
Touching upon the fight against corruption, Rustami Emomali pointed out the need to strengthen the activities of the Agency for State Financial Control and the Fight against Corruption, emphasizing that reducing the level of corruption remains a priority.
At the end of the meeting, the city chairman called for the mobilization of all available resources to ensure security and public order, reduce crime rates, and successfully organize upcoming national and international events.
