Passenger traffic control raids were conducted in Dushanbe.

From August 11 to 17 of this year, inspection raids were conducted in Dushanbe to ensure compliance with passenger transportation regulations. This was reported by the state-owned municipal agency "Dushanbenakliyotkhizmatrason."

According to the agency, representatives from relevant agencies participated in the special group's work. The inspections covered a number of areas: driver compliance with passenger transportation and road safety regulations, the use of electronic payments, the wearing of uniforms by public transport drivers, and the detection of illegal activities by private taxi drivers.

The State Enterprise noted that the measures being taken are intended to improve the quality of passenger service and ensure their safety.

Currently, 902 passenger routes operate in Tajikistan, including 179 urban, 536 suburban, 156 intercity, and 31 international. Service is provided by 16,520 vehicles and 41 passenger terminals.

According to statistics, in the first half of 2025, 511.1 million passengers were transported by all modes of transport across the republic, which is 5.8% higher than the same period last year.

Residents are concerned about violations in the capital. These include overcrowding of public transport, unauthorized stops, failure to adhere to schedules and routes, and violations by taxi drivers.

Experts remind us that the principle "The passenger is always right" applies when organizing passenger transportation. However, this rule requires compliance with the law by both carriers and passengers. The Road Transport Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, No. 1689 of April 2, 2020, establishes not only the rights but also the responsibilities of participants in the transportation process.
