Two pedestrians died in traffic accidents on Tajikistan's roads, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reported.
On August 12, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, the driver of an Opel Astra, Zayniddinov Safarmakhmad Mirmakhmadovich, born in 1956, a resident of the Dangara district, was driving along the Dushanbe-Kulyab highway from the Dangara district to the city of Dushanbe, in the territory of the village of Sebiston in the Dangara district, when he lost control of the vehicle in the Shar-Shar tunnel and collided with an Opel Combo driven by Mardonov Umed Rakhmonkulovich, born in 2000, a resident of the J. Balkhi district, who was driving from the city of Dushanbe to the city of Kulyab. As a result of the accident, the Opel Astra driver received injuries of varying severity and died at the scene. The other driver of the Opel Combo was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
On August 13, 2025, at approximately 12:20 AM, the driver of a Nexia, Nuriddin Safarmakhmadovich Kholmurodov, born in 2000, a resident of the J. Balkhi district, while traveling from the city of Bokhtar to the J. Balkhi district, lost control of the vehicle and struck a pedestrian, Mustafa Gaforovich Vohidov, born in 1962, a local resident. As a result, the pedestrian died at the scene.
On the same day, August 13, 2025, at approximately 08:40, the driver of a Viling car, Faridun Rajabovich Mardonov, born in 1980, a resident of the Rudaki district, while driving along N. Makhsum Street in Dushanbe from Zafar Street towards B. Gafurov Street, without ensuring road safety, hit an unknown pedestrian aged 40-45 years old, who was crossing the road in an unauthorized place.
As a result of the incident, the pedestrian received bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
An investigation is underway into all facts of the accident.
