From August 21 to 24, the "Suzane of Panjakent" exhibition will be held in Penjakent on the occasion of the official visit of the delegation of the International Evaluation Commission "World City of Crafts," reports NIAT "Khovar" with reference to the Executive Authority of State Authority of Penjakent.
The exhibition will feature examples of traditional handicrafts created by Penjikent artisans.
"Suzane of Panjakent" is a unique exhibition, as needlework is a subtle and original art of embroidery that has adorned this ancient land for centuries.
Panjakent, a city with a rich history, ancient culture, and craft traditions, is considered one of the most important cultural centers of Tajikistan and the region. Ancient Sarazm, with its over 5,500-year history and unique monuments of the ancient world, is a center for the development of science and culture, art and crafts, and various traditions.
The proposal to designate Penjikent as an "International City of Crafts" is an important and worthy step for the city, and was supported by Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon. Penjikent, worthy of such a title, can play a special role in the preservation and development of national crafts.
