Dushanbe plans to build multi-story parking garages near high-rise buildings, ministries, and government agencies. City officials believe this will significantly reduce traffic congestion. Deputy Mayor Bakhtiyor Sharifi announced this at a press conference at the city hall.
According to him, the construction of parking lots in key areas of the city, including areas with high traffic, will be an important step in improving transport infrastructure.
"Parking lots should be built not only near markets and shopping centers, but also next to multi-story buildings, ministries, and departments," Sharifi noted.
As an example, he cited a six-story parking garage near the Korvon market in the Firdavsi district, designed to accommodate 1,000 cars. A decision has been made to build another multi-story parking garage in the same area.
The deputy chairman also emphasized that creating private parking spaces near residential buildings using chains and locks is illegal. "No one has the right to designate individual parking spaces, restricting access for other residents and preventing their cars from parking," he stated.
