Two tragic traffic accidents occurred on August 2 in different parts of Tajikistan, killing two people, including a minor, and seriously injuring another, according to the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The first accident occurred around 12:10 PM on a road in the village of Safobakhsh in the Baljuvan District. The driver of an Opel Astra, Jurakhon Makhmadov, born in 1970, a resident of the district, lost control of his vehicle and struck a pedestrian, Sharifzoda Sulaimon Nizomuddin, born in 2015, a local resident.
As a result of the severe injuries sustained, the child died at the scene before the ambulance arrived.
The second accident occurred the same day at approximately 1:30 PM in the Asht District. The driver of a Hyundai Avante, Davronzhon Ochildievich Imomaliyev, born in 1974, a resident of the district, lost control of the vehicle while overtaking and collided with a Mercedes-Benz driven by Sanjar Khairulloyev, born in 1980, a resident of the same district.
The impact caused both vehicles to overturn. As a result of the accident, the Hyundai Avante driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. His passenger, Fotima Khakimzhonovna Merganova, born in 1967, a resident of Gulistan, died in the hospital despite medical efforts.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an investigation has been launched into both incidents. The appropriate forensic examinations have been ordered. An investigation into all the circumstances of the incident is underway.
