On August 3, 2025, a flag-raising ceremony of Turkmenistan and the UN took place in the Avaza National Tourist Zone on the occasion of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
The ceremony was an expression of the importance of the upcoming global forum, which is held once every ten years and is dedicated to the comprehensive development of landlocked developing countries.
The flag-raising ceremony was held with the participation of Deputy Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and UN Under-Secretary-General, High Representative for the Least Developed, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island States Rabab Fatima.
Turkmenistan has taken all necessary preparatory measures with great responsibility to successfully host the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
This significant event serves as evidence that Turkmenistan views the United Nations as a universal international platform, endowed with a mandate from the world community on issues of preserving and strengthening international peace and security, and ensuring the sustainable development of all states and peoples.
