The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin held a telephone conversation with the Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America Christopher Landau. The conversation took place at the initiative of the American side, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported .
During the talks, the parties discussed the current state of Tajik-American relations, noting the positive dynamics in the development of bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to issues of economic cooperation, attracting investment and implementing joint projects in priority sectors of the Tajik economy.
The parties also exchanged views on a number of pressing regional and international issues, including issues of ensuring stability and security in Central Asia, as well as interaction within the framework of international and multilateral organizations.
The Minister stressed the importance of continuing the constructive dialogue between Tajikistan and the United States based on the principles of mutual respect and partnership. He expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
Christopher Landau, in turn, confirmed the US desire to maintain active diplomatic contacts with Tajikistan, and also expressed gratitude for Dushanbe’s support within the framework of regional and global initiatives.
The telephone conversation served as confirmation of the sustainable nature of interaction between Tajikistan and the United States of America, especially in the context of growing challenges on the international agenda and the need for joint efforts to overcome them.
