On July 3, 2025, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Tajikistan with residence in Astana Salman Bal.
According to the press service of the ministry, the negotiations were held in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Minister Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the policy pursued by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, as well as the President of the Swiss Confederation, relations between the two countries have reached a qualitatively new level of development.
According to the Ministry, for January-May 2025, the volume of foreign trade turnover between Tajikistan and Switzerland amounted to 49.8 million US dollars, which allowed Switzerland to take second place among Tajikistan’s European trading partners.
During the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on the preparation of the upcoming visit of a delegation of Swiss entrepreneurs to Tajikistan, which is scheduled for September 15–19 of this year.
The parties expressed interest in expanding investment cooperation and implementing joint projects, including in the areas of energy, green economy, agriculture and digital technologies.
Following the meeting, readiness to further expand mutually beneficial partnership and strengthen business ties between the two countries was confirmed.
