The international tourism forum and exhibition under the motto "Khatlon – kalbi garmi sayokhi" will be held on June 20 in the city of Kulyab. This was reported by the press service of the chairman of the Khatlon region.
According to the source, the goal of the event is to actively promote the region's tourism potential and strengthen cooperation between domestic and foreign tourism companies. The forum is aimed at attracting both foreign and domestic tourists, as well as developing such areas as historical and cultural, medical and ecological, mountain, hunting and excursion tourism.
"As part of the forum, an exhibition will be organized, which will present tourist routes, hotel and health resort services, handicrafts and gastronomic features of the region. Participation is planned for delegations from various countries, representatives of travel agencies, the hotel business, local and international investors," the press service specified.
According to official data, 272,454 tourists visited Khatlon region in the first four months of 2025, which is 133,548 people more than in the same period last year. Of the total number of visitors, 248,591 were domestic tourists and 23,863 were foreign citizens.
Khatlon region has significant tourism potential. The region has 933 historical, cultural and archaeological sites, 121 hotels, 251 sanatoriums and rest homes, 139 tourist zones, 45 museums, 142 restaurants, 128 teahouses, 371 ATMs, 50 guest houses, 240 roadside sanitary points, 68 souvenir shops, 115 religious tourism sites, 45 parks and squares, 80 roadside signs and 26 tourist information centers.
The forum organizers expect the event to become an important platform for presenting Khatlon’s tourism opportunities and concluding new partnership agreements.
