At the venue of the event, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon was met by the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the city of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali and the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan Lieutenant General Emomali Sobirzoda. In honor of the solemn celebration of this historical event, the venue was festively decorated, and cadets of the Military Lyceum of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan lined up on both sides of the red carpet. The ceremonial event was attended by the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli and the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, members of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, heads of security agencies, law enforcement agencies, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the 201st Military Base of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tajikistan, war and labor veterans, and internationalist soldiers. The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Emomali Sobirzoda, reported to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, the respected Emomali Rahmon, on the readiness of the Dushanbe garrison troops for the military parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

After the performance of the National Anthem, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon delivered a speech to those present. At the beginning, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon sincerely congratulated the participants of the Great Patriotic War, labor veterans, those who worked in the rear during that difficult period, and all the people of Tajikistan on the 80th anniversary of the Victory. Speaking about the catastrophic consequences of the Great Patriotic War, the Leader of the Nation addressed today's and future generations that it was friendship, brotherhood, solidarity and support of the various peoples of the former Soviet Union that became the main factors in the defeat of the occupiers and the prevention of the spread of the "fascist plague" in the 20th century. Emomali Rahmon said: “We must also proudly recall that the glorious men and women of Tajikistan made an effective and worthy contribution to achieving this victory.” It was noted that out of one and a half million residents of Tajikistan at that time, more than 300 thousand people were mobilized on the battlefield, which constituted 50 percent of the country's working population. More than 100 thousand of them gave their lives in battle, more than 40 thousand went missing, and another 60 thousand returned from the war with disabilities. The country's President Emomali Rahmon noted that all these self-sacrifices, forever imprinted in our modern history, personify the contribution of the Tajik people to this great victory, ensuring peace and security throughout the world. The head of state emphasized: “We will forever preserve the good memory of the merits of those who did not return from the war, and we will always honor those who returned to their homeland with victory.” It was emphasized that for bravery and heroism in World War II, 58 thousand Tajik officers and soldiers were awarded orders and medals, and 55 people were awarded the high title of “Hero of the Soviet Union” for courage and bravery. The head of state called the contribution of the rear to achieving victory in the war unique and noted that more than 45 thousand residents of Tajikistan were sent to industrial enterprises in other regions of the Soviet Union, most of them were mobilized from there for the war. In addition, during the war, more than 100 thousand people – mainly women and children – were resettled from various combat zones to Tajikistan, and our republic became their second home.

It was noted that all human and material resources of our republic were mobilized to meet the needs of the front. “Our people, despite the fact that they themselves were experiencing a feeling of hunger, sent food, clothing and money to the battlefield,” the head of state noted.

The head of state Emomali Rahmon called the Tajik officers and soldiers during the Second World War a model of courage, bravery, fortitude and dedication for the servicemen of the Armed Forces of independent Tajikistan. The President of the country emphasized that the calm and peaceful life of today in the country was achieved at a very high price, its protection is now entrusted to military personnel as a responsible and honorable duty. During his speech at the ceremony, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon expressed his opinion on the destructive consequences of the imposed civil war, the historical merits and self-sacrifice of the loyal sons of the Motherland in the name of restoring constitutional authority. In this regard, it was emphasized that the defense of the Motherland and the protection of the peaceful life of the people at all times is the sacred and honorable duty of every conscious citizen, patriot and valiant youth. Head of State Emomali Rahmon also drew the attention of the participants of the military parade to the complex and confusing political situation in the modern world. The leader of the nation demanded that officers and soldiers always be on guard, not lose political vigilance, resourcefulness, constantly improve their level of professionalism and combat readiness, be an example of compliance with the law, order and military discipline. The country's President Emomali Rahmon, recalling his proposal to declare a "Decade of Strengthening Peace for Future Generations" at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, called promoting peace, stability and peaceful life throughout the world one of the main foreign policy goals of our state. In conclusion of his speech, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon confidently stated that the peace-loving Tajik people, thanks to the independence and freedom, sovereignty and complete stability of our country, will continue to make greater efforts to protect and honor these great blessings and in the name of future generations of our people. Following the speech by Head of State Emomali Rahmon, a wreath-laying ceremony was held to music in memory of the officers, soldiers and those who gave their lives for victory in the Great Patriotic War. First, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country Emomali Rahmon laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame, honoring the good memory of the victims of the war. Then, wreaths were laid in front of the Eternal Flame on behalf of the Majlisi Milli and Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Defense and other security agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan, veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, the diplomatic corps stationed in Dushanbe, and the 201st Military Base of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tajikistan.
