May 2025 in Tajikistan will be marked not only by warm, but also unstable weather with temperature fluctuations, showers, thunderstorms, dust storms and mudflows. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan with reference to the Agency for Hydrometeorology under the Committee for Environmental Protection.
The average monthly temperature in most regions of the country will correspond to the climatic norm or be 1 degree lower. In the capital region and Khatlon region, +20…+22 °C is expected, in Sughd region — up to +33 °C, in the mountains — up to +24 °C. The east of GBAO will remain the coldest — with daytime temperatures of +3…+15 °C and night frosts down to –6 °C.
Against the background of weather instability, magnetic storms caused by solar activity surges were also recorded in early May. According to scientific institutes, magnetic disturbances of level G1 are again predicted for May 5–7, which may negatively affect the health of weather-sensitive people.
In this regard, the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan called on drivers to exercise maximum caution, refrain from traveling when weather conditions worsen, avoid stopping in dangerous areas and strictly follow traffic rules. Road services have been instructed to strengthen control over the situation in mountainous and mudflow-prone areas.
