On May 1, an open football tournament between law enforcement officers and security forces of the country for the "Minister of Internal Affairs Cup" in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II started in Dushanbe. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.











At the grand opening of the tournament, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Major General of Police Muborakshozoda Gayratsho Gulomsho, Commander of the Internal Troops Department, Major General Sukhrob Raufzoda and other representatives of the country's law enforcement agencies, it was noted that, at the suggestion of the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, respected Rustami Emomali and with the support of the member states of the United Nations, May 25 was declared International Football Day.
The purpose of the sporting event is to develop sports and strengthen friendship and camaraderie between law enforcement officers.
The tournament, which will last until May 7, will feature 8 teams competing in two groups. The teams of players include representatives of the Ministries of Justice, Defense, the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, the State Committee for National Security, the Border Troops, the Internal Troops Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, and the Main Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Punishments.
