The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has issued its first bonds linked to the Tajik somoni (TJS) on the London Stock Exchange. This marks an important step in developing Tajikistan's financial market and opens new opportunities for attracting long-term financing in the national currency.
This was reported by the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The agency noted that funds raised through the bond issue will be used to support micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, women-owned enterprises, and to finance energy-efficient housing and climate projects.
The State Committee emphasized that the placement of such a financial instrument on the international market contributes to the development of the capital market and increases the investment attractiveness of the Republic of Tajikistan.
