The next population and housing census in Tajikistan will be conducted from October 1 to 31, 2030, nationwide. The corresponding decree was signed by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was announced today at a press conference by Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, Director of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to him, the 2030 census will be the first in the country's history to be conducted entirely electronically . While the previous census in 2020 used paper questionnaires and a mixed data collection format involving tablets, this time all information will be collected exclusively using electronic technology.

Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda noted that the transition to a fully electronic format will reduce the number of specialists involved in the census. While approximately 27,000 people were involved in this work in 2020, their number will be reduced in 2030, thanks to the digital data collection method.
He also announced that the census results will be compared with statistical data from member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States. This is due to the approval in June of this year of a draft decision by the CIS Council of Heads of State on conducting the 2030 round of population censuses in the Commonwealth member states.
As the Director of the Statistics Agency emphasized, conducting the census in a unified format will ensure comparability of statistical data among CIS countries.
