At least 10 people were killed and dozens more were injured as a result of Russian strikes on Odesa, Sumy, and villages in the Kharkiv region, according to Ukrainian authorities. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the strikes on Odesa, stating that military infrastructure was targeted.
According to Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Russian troops attacked Odesa on the night of July 15, killing at least three people. Three more were wounded and hospitalized. Local authorities say the victims suffered moderate injuries.
In addition to human casualties, several residential buildings and a gas pipeline were damaged in the city.
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the attack on Odesa. The ministry stated that a combined strike using air-launched precision weapons and drones hit the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk. The ministry claimed that tanks and facilities used for storing and shipping fuel for the Ukrainian army, as well as a drone manufacturing plant, were hit.
Odesa, a strategically important port city, is regularly subjected to Russian shelling. According to Ukrainian authorities, these attacks often result in civilian deaths and injuries.
Several villages in the Kharkiv region were also hit overnight and in the morning. According to the regional prosecutor's office, nine people were injured, including a State Emergency Service employee.
The most serious consequences were recorded in Izyum. The city suffered two attacks. First, a Geran-2 drone struck a residential area, injuring two women and a man. Earlier, four UAB-250 guided aerial bombs were launched at the city, injuring two more women and a rescue worker.
In the Bogodukhov district, a Molniya drone attacked a public transport stop in the village of Maksimovka. A 54-year-old woman was injured. Another drone of the same type caused a fire at a gas station in Bogodukhov.
In the city of Dergachi, a drone strike, which, according to preliminary data, was a Geran-3, damaged residential buildings. A 76-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man were injured.
Sumy was another target of Russian strikes. According to Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, six guided bombs were dropped on the Sumy community.
According to regional authorities, seven people were killed and 17 others were injured. One of the bombs fell near medical facilities in an area with heavy traffic and large crowds. The remaining strikes hit infrastructure.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia used two Kh-59/69 guided air-to-air missiles and 122 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the attack. According to the Ukrainian side, air defense forces shot down 101 UAVs.
