In Beijing, President Xi Jinping and President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah announced the elevation of bilateral relations to a China-Namibia Community of Shared Future in the New Era. Beijing calls for deeper cooperation in energy, agriculture, science, and a number of other areas. The Chinese leader particularly emphasized the zero customs duties currently in effect for African countries, which allow for the import of even more Namibian goods to China. President Nandi-Ndaitwah, in turn, stated that her country attaches great importance to its relations with China and hopes to further expand strategic cooperation.
