The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan reported that during search and rescue operations on the surface and underwater, rescuers discovered the body of a man.
According to the agency , the body was found approximately 20 kilometers below the site of a traffic accident in which the car carrying the chairman of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region and others fell into a river.


The Emergency Situations Committee noted that a connection between the discovered body and this incident cannot be ruled out. Authorities are currently working to establish the identity of the deceased.
The department emphasized that all necessary forces, as well as specialized equipment, were deployed to conduct search and rescue operations.



According to the Committee, more than 200 rescuers are participating in the search operation. Employees from the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region Office of the Committee for Emergency Situations, the Kulyab region departments, the Committee's Specialized Search and Rescue Department, and representatives from other relevant agencies and services are involved.
The search and rescue operation is ongoing. Work is being conducted from the scene of the incident and covers various areas in the Darvaz district, the Shamsiddin Shokhin district, the Kulyab zone, and other territories.
