On the sidelines of the 4th Meeting of Industry Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a meeting was held between Tajikistan's Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Sherali Kabir, and Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade, the ministry's press service reported.
During the talks, the parties noted that Tajik-Iranian industrial cooperation is moving to a qualitatively new level—from traditional trade relations to deeper production and technological integration.
As part of the Cooperation Action Plan for 2025–2027, the ministers discussed a number of priority areas of cooperation. These include the creation of textile clusters based on Tajik cotton using Iranian technologies, the implementation of joint projects in metallurgy and mineral processing, the production of agricultural machinery, the development of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, the production of construction materials, as well as cooperation in the chemical industry and coal processing.
Particular attention was paid to the draft Memorandum of Understanding on the creation of a joint industrial park in Tajikistan. The parties discussed the document's main provisions and prospects for its implementation.
The development of logistics infrastructure was a separate topic of discussion. The possibilities of implementing digital technologies and artificial intelligence in industrial management processes were also discussed.
The meeting took place on June 5 as part of the events of the IV Meeting of Ministers of Industry of the SCO Member States.
