The latest meeting of the Working Group of Representatives of Customs Authorities of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took place at the Fotekhobod-Oybek border checkpoint, according to the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by heads and specialists of structural divisions of the Customs Service of Tajikistan, as well as a delegation of customs authorities of Uzbekistan.
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the further development of cross-border cooperation, improving the efficiency of the Fotekhobod-Oybek checkpoint, and exchanging experience in the digitalization of customs procedures.
During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding border crossing capacity, improving border crossing procedures, and implementing modern digital technologies in the customs administration system. Participants also exchanged experiences in the digital transformation of customs services.
Particular attention was paid to problems arising during customs control and border crossings. Representatives of the two countries discussed possible mechanisms for promptly resolving emerging issues and further cooperation in these areas.
