Erlist Akunbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, and Sulaimon Ziyozoda, Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in Dushanbe.
The parties announced their intention to increase mutual trade turnover to $500 million by 2030. To achieve this goal, they plan to develop a joint roadmap with specific deadlines and designated implementers.
During the meeting, the importance of the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, which took place in February, was noted. The parties emphasized the need for regular monitoring of the implementation of the agreements reached.
The Kyrgyz side also expressed its readiness to increase supplies to Tajikistan of textiles, coal, glass, plastic products, and certain types of agricultural products.
In addition, the parties discussed the opening of mutual trading houses, cooperation in the field of renewable energy, and water and energy cooperation.
