Tajik President Emomali Rahmon congratulated citizens on Youth Day, which is celebrated annually in the country. This was reported by the head of state's press service.

"Happy youth of the country!
Dear children of the Motherland!
I sincerely congratulate you all on Youth Day of Tajikistan.
I also congratulate all young people who study and work outside the country.
This year, we celebrate Youth Day in a special, historically significant year for the people of Tajikistan – the 35th anniversary of our country's state independence.
Truly, independence and freedom are the most sacred and important values, the greatest blessing for every patriot of the country, especially for teenagers and youth.
Over the 35 years of independence and the formation of the new Tajik state, youth have played an exceptionally important role as the proactive and driving force of society.
I am proud to note that the youth of our country, as an active part of society, take an active part in the implementation of state policy, the development of the national economy, the progress of science and education, culture and modern technology.
It makes a worthy contribution to strengthening the achievements of state independence, protecting the country's borders, ensuring the security of society and the state, maintaining peace and stability, as well as the socio-economic development of the state.
Today, there is not a single area in the country in which our youth does not take an active part.
Since the first years of independence, the state and government of the country have taken large-scale measures to create favorable conditions for education, vocational training, sports, entrepreneurship—in short, to ensure that young people take their rightful place in society.
First of all, a modern and necessary regulatory framework was created for the successful implementation of state youth policy.
In particular, all the conditions for acquiring knowledge, mastering professions and crafts were gradually created for teenagers and young people, and this process continues consistently.
Because one of the main paths to progress and development of the country is the education of an educated and professionally trained young generation.
It should be noted that over the 35 years of independence, approximately one million young people have graduated from higher education institutions in the country, and another 140 thousand from foreign universities, receiving a profession and specialty.
However, I would like to emphasize that, given the rapid development of science and technology, as well as modern requirements, this is still not enough.
In the current environment, mastering modern knowledge, including artificial intelligence, the digital economy, information technology, electronic services, programming, new energy, and innovative entrepreneurship, is of paramount importance for young people.
Young people must clearly understand that the country's sustainable socio-economic development directly depends on the level of development of science and technology, as well as the implementation of advanced technologies.
Therefore, young people must, even at this stage, demonstrate a strong will to actively engage in scientific research, creativity and innovation.
At the same time, it should be remembered that the study of foreign languages and the expansion of scientific horizons open up wide opportunities for education, employment, and international cooperation for young people.
Mastering a profession and modern skills is a crucial factor in ensuring a decent life and achieving economic competitiveness. Young people need to make even greater efforts in this direction.
Young people also need to, with sound thinking and a high sense of responsibility, resist destructive phenomena and the influence of extremist ideas.
Because in today's world, full of contradictions and upheavals, only those states remain resilient in the face of current threats and challenges whose people, especially the youth, are patriotic and conscientious, educated and highly skilled, skilled in a profession and craft, capable of invention and innovation, and, most importantly, united and united.
Dear children!
I would like to especially emphasize one extremely important thought that you should always remember.
We, Tajiks, are a people of Aryan origin, with more than six thousand years of history, a great culture and a creative civilization.
It is with this goal in mind that we published and distributed free of charge the outstanding work of Academician Bobojon Gafurov, "Tajiks," and the immortal poem "Shahnameh" by the great Abulqosim Firdavsi, so that the people, especially teenagers and young people, know their history, their roots, their traditions of patriotism and statehood, take pride in them, and strive to preserve and strengthen this legacy.
Particularly in the context of globalization and the negative influence of foreign cultures and traditions, you must study, know, and carefully preserve core national values—the history, language, culture, customs, rituals, and traditions of the ancient Tajik people—and promote their development and dissemination.
Most importantly, cherish the greatest treasure of the nation and state – independence and freedom, and direct all your efforts to their protection and strengthening.
It is thanks to this priceless blessing that we are known and respected in the world, and that our ancient civilization and cultural heritage are highly valued.
It is no wonder that we call today's teenagers and young people the source of great initiatives, the creators of a bright future for an independent Tajikistan, and the driving force of society.
Because it is in your hands, honest, worthy, and modern-minded, that the bright future of the state and the nation lies.
We have complete confidence in our youth—the generation of the independence period—and we believe in their high national spirit and sincere patriotism. It is on them, first and foremost, that we rely in the further development of Tajikistan.
We are confident that the youth of our country will make a significant and worthy contribution to the celebration of the great and sacred national anniversary – the 35th anniversary of State independence.
Dear youth!
Addressing you, I emphasize once again: cherish independence and freedom as the most sacred and precious values for the freedom-loving and peace-loving Tajik people.
Sincerely love this paradise-like homeland and preserve it as the land of our ancestors for future generations of the ancient Tajik people.
Never and under no circumstances betray your Motherland and your people.
In today's extremely challenging and vulnerable global environment, protect the spiritual identity of the ancient Tajik nation.
Be an example of high human morality, culture of communication, national dignity, patriotism, self-awareness and civic maturity.
Show respect to your parents and elders, observe noble national customs, traditions and norms of behavior.
Preserve the purity of your native language, for ours is considered one of the most ancient and beautiful languages in the world, and this sweet-sounding and expressive language is the very essence of the ancient Tajik people.
You, who grew up in an atmosphere of unity, stability, and development in our free country, are obligated to protect independent Tajikistan and, through your creative work, make it even more prosperous and developed.
Every teenager and young person must deeply understand that Tajikistan is their homeland, their sacred home, and the prosperity of which depends on their work, dedication, and sense of responsibility.
Once again, I congratulate all of you, the continuers of the great history and ancient culture of the Tajik people of Aryan origin, on Youth Day, and I wish each of you, above all, good health, prosperity, happiness, as well as even greater success and achievements in your creative work in the name of the prosperity of our beloved Motherland.
May the youth of Tajikistan always remain a pioneering force in science and education, a reliable defender of peace and stability, and a creator of a bright present and future for our beloved country!
"Happy Youth Day of Tajikistan, dear children of the Motherland!" the head of state addressed the youth.
