From May 11 to 14, 2026, at the invitation of President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will pay a state visit to China. The Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this on May 9.
As noted, a high-level meeting is planned as part of the visit, during which the parties will consider a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, industrial, investment, and humanitarian spheres.
A constructive exchange of views is also expected on the implementation of joint projects in priority areas, including energy, the green economy, and digital technologies.
Key topics of the talks will include the regional situation, as well as strengthening cooperation in combating new challenges and threats within the framework of interaction in regional and international organizations.
Following the summit, it is planned to sign a new package of bilateral documents, which is expected to significantly expand the legal basis for relations between Tajikistan and China.
The Tajik Foreign Ministry emphasized that the upcoming visit will be a logical continuation of the political dialogue between the leaders of the two states and will give new impetus to strengthening friendship between the peoples and developing good-neighborly relations between the two countries.
