Tajikistan is importing Nipah virus detection tests from the Russian Federation. Remote thermal imaging devices have been installed at international airports to screen passengers arriving from high-risk countries, including India. This was announced today at a press conference by Health Minister Jamoliddin Abdullozoda.
He also reported on the activities of the country's medical institutions in 2025. Over the course of the year, 330 organ transplants were performed in Tajikistan. Of these, 222 were kidney transplants, 108 were liver transplants. Among the patients, 99 were children and 95 were foreigners.
Overall, 203,563 surgical procedures were performed in hospitals across the country in 2025, a 10% increase compared to 2024, when 183,549 procedures were performed. The number of minimally invasive procedures reached 28,624, an 18.6% increase compared to the previous year.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that the introduction of modern diagnostic and surgical technologies, including minimally invasive methods, allows for expanded treatment options for patients and improved quality of medical care.
