The problem of teacher shortages in schools in Tajikistan has been completely resolved, according to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to Deputy Minister of Education Ravshan Karimzoda, 9,178 new teachers were hired in the 2025–2026 academic year, which is 5,384 more than in the same period in 2024.
"We currently don't have a teacher shortage. Yes, there are nearly 700 teachers who are not working in their specialty, but we are actively working on this and plan to address this issue," noted Ravshan Karimzoda.

He emphasized that of the 136,000 teachers working across the country, 16,000 are on maternity leave. "They are replaced by other teachers, which sometimes leads to one teacher teaching multiple subjects," the deputy minister explained.
Thus, schools in Tajikistan have been fully staffed with teaching staff, and work to optimize teachers' employment and improve their qualifications continues.
