Tajik chess player Muhammad Yunusov won first place ahead of schedule in the tournament for chess players rated up to 2250 points at the Six Days Budapest January 2026 International Chess Festival in Budapest, Hungary. This was reported by the Tajikistan Chess Federation.
In the competition, Yunusov scored 6.5 points out of eight games, securing the lead with a round remaining and winning the tournament ahead of schedule. According to the Tajikistan Chess Federation, this achievement is a testament to the athlete's high level of preparation and his mastery on the international stage.
