Tajikistan's gross domestic product in 2025 amounted to 176.9 billion somoni. Economic growth reached 8.4%. This was announced at a press conference by the country's Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Abdurakhmon Abdurakhmonzoda.
According to him, complex external factors will persist in 2025, including the global geopolitical situation, regional conflicts, military and trade disputes, changes in international financial relations, economic sanctions between superpowers, price instability on world markets, and the effects of climate change.
Despite the influence of these factors, as a result of the implementation of decrees, orders and instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to ensure the planned pace of economic development, the efficient use of resources, the commissioning of new and the activation of existing capacities, the attraction of domestic and foreign investment and the rational use of agricultural land, the economic growth rate was achieved at the level of 8.4%, and the GDP volume reached 176.9 billion somoni.
The growth of the national economy was achieved due to an increase in industrial production by 22.1%, agriculture by 9.5%, trade turnover by 13.9%, passenger transportation by 10.9%, paid services by 13.2%, freight transportation by 15.2%, and investments in fixed capital by 23%.
The inflation rate in 2025 was 3.5%, 0.1 percentage point lower than the 2024 figure (3.6%). According to the ministry, inflation was primarily driven by a 4.5% increase in food prices, a 1.5% increase in non-food prices, and a 5.7% increase in services prices.
