The approval of the necessary documents for the Tajik-Russian industrial park to commence operations in Dushanbe is in the final stages, said Sherali Kabir, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, during a press conference.
"The documents have now been prepared. <…> Currently, the document approval process in Tajikistan and Russia is practically in its final stages, and the project's funding budget has been determined," the minister stated.
According to him, the Tajik side is also attracting funds to finance the construction, modernization, and reconstruction of industrial sites. The technology park will be located on the site of the former Tajiktekstilmash machine-building plant in Dushanbe.
"In the first stage, we identified a site of over 21,000 square meters—three production facilities of this plant—and we plan to expand [the area] later," Kabir explained. He added that work is progressing rapidly, and concrete results are expected in the first half of the year.
The minister clarified that the industrial park has already acquired its first residents—Tajik companies. "There are already Tajik entities primarily engaged in the production of medical equipment," he said. The plan is not only to supply their products to the domestic market but also to organize exports to countries in the region and the Russian Federation.
An intergovernmental agreement to establish an industrial park in Dushanbe was signed in March 2025 during Tajik President Emomali Rahmon's official visit to Moscow. In October, the parties signed an investment agreement for the project.
Earlier, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov noted that approximately 10 Russian companies have already expressed interest in opening production facilities in the industrial park. Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoryev reported that the list of Russian companies is still being compiled, with 170 companies on the preliminary list of potential residents.
