Special vending machines for buying and selling gold bars will be installed in Tajikistan. This was announced by the National Bank of Tajikistan, citing the head of the regulator, Firdavs Tolibzoda, who spoke at a press conference.
According to him, the corresponding equipment will be installed in Dushanbe. These machines will make it possible to conduct transactions with precious metals. The head of the National Bank noted that this decision is aimed at expanding public access to purchasing gold bars.
The process of buying and selling gold in these machines is reportedly similar to that of cash ATMs. It involves selecting a gold bar, paying with a bank card, and dispensing the purchased item. In some cases, the machines also offer the option of selling gold.

Typically, such devices are installed in shopping centers, airports and other public places.
In Tajikistan, gold bars have been in free circulation since June 2017. They are sold in Dushanbe, at the central office of the National Bank of Tajikistan. In addition, gold transactions are conducted at a number of other banks in the country.
Firdavs Tolibzoda reported that in 2025, gold bars totaling 200 kg were sold in the country for 224 million somoni. According to him, the main buyers were individuals.
