Tajik President Emomali Rahmon congratulated the people of the republic on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, according to the presidential press service.
"Dear compatriots!
I sincerely congratulate you all on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan—a time of grace and abundance, kindness and generosity, patience and endurance, forgiveness of sins, and guidance for good and worthy deeds.
I wish each of your families a prosperous and peaceful life, happiness and success in all endeavors and human virtues.
The holy month of Ramadan occupies a special place in the teachings of the sacred religion of Islam due to its wisdom, since the Almighty chose patience and endurance, love and mercy, kindness and generosity among other forms of worship in this month and gave them a special status.
It should be remembered that the wisdom of fasting in the month of Ramadan lies not only in abstaining from food, drink and performing worship, but also in the special significance of purifying the internal and external, avoiding enmity and hatred, as well as in self-control and increased performance of good deeds in society.
Piety, generosity to others, extending a helping hand to those in need, helping loved ones to the best of one's ability, and other good and charitable deeds are the values that bring Muslims special merit during this month.
Whoever performs one good or pious deed in this blessed month is like one who has performed seventy obligatory deeds at other times.
It should be especially emphasized that Islam considers respect for the status and position of parents as one of the highest values, elevating service to them above all forms of worship.
In this sense, the hadith states that showing kindness to parents is preferable to prayer, fasting, Hajj and Umrah.
One of the good deeds that is given special merit during the holy month of Ramadan is almsgiving (sadaqah) for orphans, the disabled, the homeless, low-income families, and other needy people.
It should also be remembered that, according to the teachings and prescriptions of the sacred religion of Islam, the right to receive fitra-sadaqah is primarily given to orphans, the disabled and the needy, as well as low-income families.
In this regard, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The best and most valuable charity is that which is given in the month of Ramadan.”
It should not be forgotten that the condition for the acceptance of good deeds is their performance with sincerity, while in their implementation it is necessary to observe moderation and not allow wastefulness, ostentation and excesses.
It is especially important to exercise fairness in the buying and selling of goods, and to refrain from extravagant feasts and excessive consumption of food during this month, since these actions are completely inconsistent with the essence of the holy month.
I am confident that the noble people of Tajikistan correctly understand the wisdom of the month of Ramadan, devoting themselves with good intentions and a pure heart to worship and liturgy, strengthening an atmosphere of peace, tranquility, unity, and mutual understanding in our beloved country.
Dear compatriots!
The blessed month of Ramadan coincides with the beginning of the spring planting season.
This requires each of us to prioritize the effective use of spring days and make efforts to complete agricultural work in a timely and high-quality manner.
Given the challenging situation in the modern world, where climate change, economic crises, and other factors are causing many countries to face food shortages and rising prices, the issue of ensuring the country's food security has become particularly important.
Under these conditions, the rational and efficient use of every inch of land to increase agricultural production, supply the domestic market, and reduce dependence on food imports is an important task and a moral and humane responsibility for every resident of the country.
In other words, each of us must contribute to ensuring the country's food security through sincere work, rational use of water and land, high-quality seeds, and obtaining a bountiful harvest.
Along with this, the expansion of agricultural work, the creation of new jobs, the planting of orchards and vineyards, as well as the implementation of actions that contribute to raising the standard of living of the population, are considered in Islam as a form of continuous charity (sadaqah jariya).
In addition, we must constantly pay attention to frugality, avoiding excesses, extravagance and ostentatious luxury, given the difficult situation in the modern world.
We must take care of family members, children, loved ones and relatives.
In addition, it is the responsibility of each of us to educate and raise children, providing them with knowledge, skills and a profession.
Because the study of science is the light that at any time and in any era guides a person to the right path and leads to a prosperous future.
And the first verse revealed in the Holy Quran, “iqra,” emphasizes the importance of reading and acquiring knowledge.
We must always remember that encouraging children to study and master a profession is a religious command and the best service in raising a new generation of teenagers and young people.
The State and the Government of the country take numerous measures to teach children and young people knowledge and professions, but parents must also fulfill their sacred duty in teaching, educating and turning children into educated and intelligent people for the sake of their happy future.
Dear compatriots!
Currently, our country is going through the stage of formation and development of a national state.
The legitimacy of the creation of a modern national state requires that both Islamic values and rituals, traditions and national customs contribute to strengthening the stability, peace and well-being of the people of Tajikistan.
We have declared this year, in honor of the sacred and great national holiday—the 35th anniversary of our beloved country's independence—"The Year of Expanding Improvement and Creativity, Strengthening National Identity and Self-Awareness."
This proud year offers every person the opportunity to contribute to the development of the state and the prosperity of our beloved homeland through their work and creative actions.
Thus, we not only celebrate the great holiday of independence, but also lay the foundation for a bright future for the country for future generations.
It should be remembered that improvement works, including the construction and restoration of roads and bridges, medical institutions, schools and kindergartens, are considered perpetual charity (sadaqah jariya) and, according to the teachings of Islam, bring great spiritual reward and benefit to those who perform them.
Every citizen of the country can do a good deed, improve a corner of their homeland and demonstrate a sense of patriotism and pride in their country.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the glorious people of the country, especially the entrepreneurs and generous people who contribute to such good and virtuous deeds, building thousands of industrial and social facilities, including roads, bridges, educational and medical institutions.
We must continue to work sincerely, educate our children in the spirit of patriotism, love for the Motherland, and high national consciousness, and pass on Tajikistan as a prosperous and beautiful country to future generations.
We must always be united and cohesive, directing all our efforts toward maintaining peace and stability in our country, improving our beloved Motherland, developing an independent state, and enhancing its authority in the international arena.
With hope for the continued prosperity and development of our beloved Motherland, Tajikistan, I once again congratulate the glorious people of the country on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan. I wish every citizen joy in their hearts, prosperity in their homes, good luck, and eternal peace and tranquility.
"May the holy month of Ramadan be blessed, dear compatriots!" says Emomali Rahmon's congratulatory message.
