Six people died in road accidents in Khujand and the Varzob district of Tajikistan on February 23-24, the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
On February 23 at 5:46 p.m., the driver of an ATEKO vehicle, Mirzogafur Mirzoboevich Negmatov, born in 1972, a resident of the B. Gafurov district, lost control of the vehicle while entering the Gazoil gas station in the city of Khujand and hit a scooter rider, born in 2015, a resident of the B. Gafurov district.
As a result of the traffic accident, the scooter rider died at the scene from his injuries.
On February 24, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the driver of a Toyota Corolla Verso, Shokhnazarov Mastibek Shukurovich, born in 1988, a resident of the Ayni district, while driving from the Sughd region to the city of Dushanbe and entering the territory of the Varzob district, lost control of the vehicle, drove into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with a Volvo Truck driven by Atobuloev Zikrullo Nurulloevich, born in 1977, a resident of the Matcha district.
As a result, the driver of the Toyota Corolla Verso, Shokhnazarov M.Sh., as well as his passengers – Ashurova Sadbarg Aminovna, born in 1980, Ashurov Rakhmonazir Khudoynazarovich, born in 1974, Ashurova Mekhrubon Khudoynazarovna, born in 1979, and Shokhnazarov Zavkibek Dzhonibekovich, born in 1980, residents of the Ayni district, received various injuries and died at the scene of the accident.
An investigation is being conducted into the facts of the road accidents.
