On February 26, 2026, the first meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and the United Kingdom in the C5+1 format took place in London. A delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan, led by Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, participated in the meeting, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues on the international and regional agendas, and exchanged views on expanding trade and economic cooperation, attracting investment, and strengthening security cooperation within the C5+1 format.


In his address, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan noted that cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom has demonstrated positive dynamics in recent years in the areas of economics, investment, industry, education, and science. He emphasized that holding the meeting reflects the strong commitment of the countries of the region to strengthening their constructive partnership with the United Kingdom and ensuring the sustainable development of Central Asia.
The importance of intensifying joint efforts to prevent the consequences of climate change, promote water and climate initiatives, and develop intercultural dialogue was also noted.
