During an operational search, police detained a 41-year-old resident of the Jaloliddin Balkhi district on suspicion of organizing illegal migration, according to the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the investigation, the suspect, by prior conspiracy and without a license from the Migration Service of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, illegally organized labor migration.
In May 2025, he fraudulently arranged for a 44-year-old resident of the Dangara district to illegally migrate to the Republic of Lithuania for labor, receiving 20,000 somoni from him. The suspect obtained a short-term visa to the Republic of Latvia, but failed to secure employment or extend the visa, making false promises. As a result, the deceived citizen was deported and returned to his homeland.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Part 2 of Article 335 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and an investigation is underway.
Also, as a result of operational investigative measures, police officers detained a 38-year-old resident of the city of Istaravshan on suspicion of organizing illegal migration.
According to the investigation, in July 2025, he gained the trust of a 33-year-old resident of Istaravshan by promising him work through labor migration and took him to the Republic of Serbia. However, he took no action to find him employment.
A criminal case has been opened against the second suspect under Part 1 of Article 335 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and a preliminary investigation is underway.
