Organizing educational outreach on the passport system and holding passport presentation ceremonies at educational institutions are part of the planned activities of the Passport and Registration Service staff at Department No. 2 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Bobojon Gafurov District, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
It is noted that significant work is being carried out in this area, since the timely provision of students with passports facilitates compliance with legal requirements in the service area.
One of the passport distribution ceremonies took place at Secondary School No. 7 in the Zarzamin district. All students who had reached passport age were provided with a primary identification document.
During the event, police lieutenant colonel Abdumalik Rahimzoda, a representative of the Passport and Registration Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sughd Region, explained the rules of the passport system, all aspects of document processing, storage, and intended use in public relations.
It was noted that a passport confirms a person's citizenship, and receiving one for the first time is proof of reaching adulthood. The legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan stipulates that a person who has reached the age of 16 is required to have a primary identification document.
An initiative by employees of the Passport and Registration Service of Department No. 2 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Bobojon Gafurov District allowed students from School No. 7 to obtain passports, and this event became a memorable stage in their entry into adulthood.
Similar ceremonial events were also held at Secondary School No. 54 in Zarzamin Jamoat, School No. 55 and the State Specialized Educational Institution for Gifted Students located in Khistevarz Jamoat in the district.
Thirty-seven students received passports at School No. 54, 69 at School No. 55, and 67 students who reached passport age at the specialized institution for gifted children. Thanks to this initiative, students were able to obtain passports without interrupting their studies.
To improve students' legal literacy, representatives of the relevant services provided necessary information about the passport system and ceremoniously presented passports to their holders.
