Asian Development Bank President Masato Kanda met with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. During the meeting, he reaffirmed the Asian Development Bank's commitment to supporting the government in promoting sustainable, diversified, and inclusive economic growth to create more high-quality jobs, according to the Asian Development Bank's press service.
During the meeting, it was noted that the Asian Development Bank will continue to support the Tajik government's initiatives aimed at economic development and improving social conditions.
"The Asian Development Bank plans to provide approximately US$1.1 billion over the period 2026–2028 to support infrastructure development, enhance economic competitiveness, and improve the quality and accessibility of social services," said Masato Kanda.
He emphasized that the bank intends to continue supporting government initiatives aimed at developing a dynamic private sector.
According to him, the private sector is an important source of employment, innovation and sustainable economic growth.
