A national scientific and theoretical conference on "The Revival and Transformation of National Holidays – a Valuable Cultural Achievement of the Independence Period" was held at the A. Bahovaddinov Institute of Philosophy and Political Science of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. This was reported by NIAT Khovar, citing the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.
The conference addressed issues of revival and transformation of national holidays of the Tajik people, including Navruz, Tirgon, Mehrgon, Sada and Shabi Yaldo.
The academic papers by scholars and researchers analyzed the historical, philosophical, and cultural aspects of the holidays. Topics discussed included: "Values in the Traditions and Rituals of Navruz," "The Unifying and Creative Role of Navruz," "Ancient Aryan Holidays and the Characteristics of Their Celebrations," and "Tajikistan's Initiatives to Promote the Ideas of Navruz."
Conference participants emphasized that national holidays of the Tajik people are an important part of cultural heritage, contributing to the strengthening of national identity, the dissemination of spiritual values, and the presentation of Tajik culture on the international stage.
Particular attention was paid to the role of holidays during the period of Tajikistan's state independence. During this period, national holidays were revived with new meaning and acquired particular significance as cultural and social events.
Participants noted the importance of holding scientific events of this kind for the study, preservation, and popularization of the nation's cultural heritage, as well as for strengthening ties between researchers and disseminating knowledge about national traditions.
