On March 11, a gala gathering was held at the Bokhtar Palace of Culture to celebrate Tajik Press Day. More than 150 media veterans and active journalists from Khatlon Region participated, according to the press service of the Khatlon Region Governor.
First, Deputy Chairman of the Khatlon Region, Rahmonzoda Abdullo, and his entourage visited an exhibition of regional periodicals. He spoke separately with the editors-in-chief of local newspapers and magazines about the status of their publications, technical support, personnel issues, and working conditions.
Then, in the hall of the information center of the Palace of Culture, the deputy chairman of the region read a congratulatory message from the chairman of the Khatlon region, Davlatali Said, to representatives of the media and veterans of the press.

The meeting emphasized that the event is being held as a symbol of respect and recognition of the achievements of media representatives. The executive body of the state authority of Khatlon Region views every journalist as a partner and like-minded person, a selfless assistant, a defender of national values, and a reliable supporter of the state.
"We value the work of all media professionals at the local, regional, national, and international levels, who, together with government agencies, serve the people and the nation. We are taking additional measures to develop cooperation and fully recognize that the creators of Khatlon always support national and state interests, demonstrate steadfast resistance in the information war and attacks by extremist groups, guiding people on the right path," the meeting noted.
It was also emphasized that regional conflicts, the rise of separatism, the activities of extremist groups, changing ideologies, information wars, and other modern threats require increased vigilance, professional unity, harmony, courage, bravery, tolerance, and a high level of responsibility from media representatives.
