The Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan ratified the Treaty on Alliance Relations between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported.
The document provides for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, military, social, scientific, technological, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
According to the agreement, the parties undertake to refrain from any actions that could damage the strategic and allied partnership.
The document also provides for strengthening interparliamentary cooperation. Specifically, it is planned to intensify the activities of interparliamentary friendship groups, as well as interaction within international parliamentary organizations.
Consultative meetings of the heads of state of Central Asia have been identified as one of the important platforms for discussing regional issues.
The document places particular emphasis on developing trade and economic ties between the two countries. The parties intend to create favorable conditions for entrepreneurship, support and mutually protect investment, and develop direct ties between businesses and citizens of the two countries.
Furthermore, the rational use and protection of water resources has been designated as a separate area of cooperation. This issue, it is noted, is crucial for the sustainable development and environmental stability of Central Asian states.
