On March 11, Tajikistan's Minister of Transport, Azim Ibrohim, World Bank Regional Director for Infrastructure in Europe and Central Asia, Charles Cormier, and World Bank Transport Lead for Europe and Central Asia, Shomik Raj Mehndirat, discussed effective cooperation between Tajikistan and the World Bank and the importance of supporting various sectors of the country's economy in Washington, D.C.
The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan reported this.
"I would like to particularly emphasize that the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant construction project is an absolute national priority for the Republic of Tajikistan and is of crucial importance for the country's future. Therefore, our future proposals and priorities in the transport sector will be reviewed and developed taking into account the significance of this strategic facility," said the head of Tajikistan's Ministry of Transport.
It is noted that on March 10–11, the ministerial conference “Transport Transformation 2026” was held at the World Bank headquarters in Washington.
The delegation from Tajikistan took part in it, consisting of the head of the delegation, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim, the director of the State Unitary Enterprise "Institute for Design of Transport Facilities" of the Ministry of Transport Vali Makhsum and the coordinator of the "URPSCA-4" project Usmon Siddikov.
