A scientific and practical conference on the topic "Use and Protection of the Country's Water Resources in the Context of Climate Change: Current Status and Prospects" began its work on March 17 in the building of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The event was organized at the initiative of the Committee on Environmental Protection as part of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028" and in connection with World Water Day. This was reported by the Committee on Environmental Protection.
The conference opened with an opening speech by the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Shukurzoda Isfandiyor.


The conference was attended by the leadership and staff of the Committee for Environmental Protection, representatives of the scientific community, specialists and experts from relevant institutes of the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Committee for Housing and Public Utilities, the Agency for Hydrometeorology, and other national institutions.


During the event, representatives of the aforementioned organizations delivered reports and presentations, presenting planned measures and actions within the framework of the goals of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028."


Overall, it was noted that such scientific and practical events contribute to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation, the exchange of experience, and the comprehensive resolution of issues related to water resources, ecology, and climate.
